Although nature can kill us, many people feel they can access clarity, insights, peace, and healing more readily in natural, even wild, surroundings than they can indoors or within the confines of civilization. What is it about being in natural surroundings, even wild and dangerous ones like the desert or Alaska, which helps many to access a special kind of perspective,healing, and connection with not just nature, but themselves, others, and, for some, whatever they feel is divine, eternal, or universal? If possible, try to draw on personal experience to help you reflect on this question.
