Also, please write one authentic textually-based discussion question on a sheet of paper that you can hand in at the beginning of class tomorrow.  The question may be interpretive in nature, asking a question about the text, a character, a line by Carraway, etc., or evaluative, asking a question prompted by the text but related to the "real world".

Also, on the same paper, please identify a song that you connect to chapter 1 or two. In a paragraph in your noteook, introduce the song (the name of the song and artist), briefly explain why you connected the song with the novel and share a particularly meaningful stanza from the song. Explain how you see the the song and the specific lyrics relating to chapter 1 or 2 of Gatsby; include at least one quote from The Great Gatsby.

Please make the following announcements to your students concerning this year’s AP Exam administration. I will also put a copy of this email in your mailbox for your convenience.
  • AP exam registration is now open.
  • Check your LTHS email account for an important email containing:                                      --the registration website
--step-by-step instructions on how to register for exams
  • The cost for each exam is $93.00. 
  • The deadline to register online is March 3rd, 2017.  Registrations received after the deadline will be charged an additional $55.00 late fee.
  • If you have a conflict with an exam date, you must seek Late Testing Approval from Mrs. Smith in the Testing Office (Rm. 45) as soon as possible so that late materials can be ordered you. There is a $45 fee for Late Tests in addition to the exam cost.
·         Prior to taking your first exam, you must complete several non-test sections of your answer sheet.  This can be done at a Pre-Administration Session on one of the following dates:  April 17, 18, 20 or 21. Time and location of Pre-Exam sessions is TBA.
  • Sophomores in AP European History will have a Pre-Exam Session during one of their AP European History classes (so they do not need to attend one of the aforementioned sessions on April 18-21).
  • All AP scores are available online ONLY, beginning in early July.  To access your score reports, you must create a College Board account at https://apscore.collegeboard.org/scores.  It is not necessary to sign up for an account if you have created one previously (i.e., for past AP exam score reports or if you have taken an SAT test).
