Homework/Activity 3: Read and annotate chapter 9 in The Scarlet Letter, and in your American Puritanism and American Romanticism Packet, read the sections titled Romanticism, Romanticism and Religious Culture, the Romantic Hero, and the Romantic Anti-hero. Also, write a text-based thematic reflection which synthesizes (makes connections) between some developing theme from The Scarlet Letter and some ideas discussed in the American Puritanism and Romanticism readings for this evening. Also write  one discussion question for tomorrow. Tomorrow, we will discuss chapters 8 and 9 and the Romantic Hero and Romantic Antihero.
